Project Description:
A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Bioenergy Science Center located at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of investigators undertaking a broad, integrated approach aimed at ultimately improving feedstock chemistry to enhance the conversion of biomass to biofuels. The approaches being used in this study include bioinformatics, comparative and functional genomics, gene expression and protein interaction studies to better understand cellulose biosynthesis in plants. The postdoc will be expected to contribute to the gene expression and analysis aspect of the project.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics or a related field. Prior experience with metabolic profiling data analysis and pathway analysis is required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the use of statistical and bioinformatic analyses tools including script writing. Excellent analytical skills, written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills are required. Applicants cannot have received the most recent degree more than five years prior to the date of application and must complete all degree requirements before starting their appointment.
