Project Description:
A postdoctoral research associate position is available in the area of materials joining and allied science and technology. The research emphases is expected to focus on solid-state joining technology development of advanced materials and the property of joint materials exposed to hydrogen and other extreme conditions. The successful applicant should have a strong background and interest in materials joining with demonstrated capability of innovative and independent research. This position requires strong hands-on experience in operating materials joining equipment and mechanical testing of weld joints.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Welding, Materials Science/Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related science and engineering discipline at the time of appointment.
Applicants cannot have received the most recent degree more than five years prior to the date of application and must complete all degree requirements before starting their appointment.
